Wagner's raid on moscow has clearly demonstrated the weakness of the putin regime. Providing Ukraine with the necessary military assistance, strengthening sanctions pressure and resolute action by the international community will ensure russia's defeat in its war against Ukraine and the democratic world.
This was stated by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU member states on Monday, 26 June.
"On Saturday night, we saw not the end, but only a break in another act of destruction of putin's vertical. russia is getting weaker day by day. It is critical now to provide Ukraine with all the weapons it needs, especially artillery systems, MLRS, and missiles and rockets to it, as well as to strengthen international sanctions in the areas of nuclear energy, digital technologies, diamond sales, maritime logistics and finance. We must also prevent russia from launching missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, primarily through a global ban on the supply of dual-use goods for the russian missile and drone industries," said Dmytro Kuleba.
The Minister also called on the United States to speed up the process of training Ukrainian pilots and technicians and the transfer of Western-standard aircraft to Ukraine: "Together, all these steps will allow us to liberate all Ukrainian territories."
He also welcomed the EU's decision to increase the budget of the European Peacekeeping Fund to EUR 3.5 billion, which will not only help ensure stable supplies of military equipment to Ukraine, but also develop the Ukrainian-European alliance of defence industries. According to the Minister, a special event will be held in Ukraine in the near future to launch this long-term defence cooperation.
Finally, Dmytro Kuleba told the European foreign ministers the story of two Ukrainian teenagers from Berdiansk, Tigran Ohannisyan and Mykyta Khanganov, who had sacrificed their lives in the fight against the russian occupation: "Ukraine will definitely win, as it is defended by such Heroes as Tigran and Mykyta. Glory to Ukraine!"
