Dmytro Kuleba held talks with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu: Turkey stands ready to consider an opportunity to become Ukraine's security guarantor in the future

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who paid a visit to Ukraine.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy informed his Turkish counterpart about Ukraine's heroic defense against full-scale aggression by the russian federation. He stressed that thanks to the indomitable spirit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people, our state continues to mount a firm resistance Russian invaders on all fronts.

The Minister condemned the numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian army in Ukraine, and stressed the accountability for those crimes is inevitable.

Dmytro Kuleba thanked Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu for the unwavering solidarity of Turkey with Ukraine, practical political and humanitarian support, and readiness to consider becoming one of Ukraine's guarantors of security in the future.

The Turkish Foreign Minister informed Dmytro Kuleba about his visit to Moscow on March 16. He stressed Ankara's readiness to continue mediation efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

"Our state highly appreciates Turkey's diplomatic efforts to force the russian federation to end its armed aggression and withdraw its troops from Ukraine. I am ready to continue the dialogue in the format of the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Turkey and russia, if russia is set up for a serious dialogue for the sake of achieving concrete results," Dmytro Kuleba said.

He reminded that the Ukrainian side insists on an immediate ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians and the delivery of food.

The Minister also thanked the President of Turkey for the proposal to organize a meeting between the Presidents of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the russian federation Vladimir Putin. Dmytro Kuleba expressed special gratitude to Turkey for providing humanitarian aid to Ukrainian citizens affected by russian aggression.

The interlocutors discussed practical steps to increase Turkey's practical assistance to Ukraine.
