Ukrainians are grateful to the entire Polish people for the assistance they have been providing us since the first day of the war. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko in Rzeszów, Poland, during a meeting with the Minister of the Interior and Administration Mariusz Kamiński.
The main subject of the ministerial meeting, attended by the heads of border guard services, police and rescue services of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, was the issue of humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine.
"Your situation is very complicated, but the current time is also very important for Ukraine. I know what an outstanding role the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is playing now. I think that during today's working meeting we will discuss all the issues to help Ukraine," said Mariusz Kamiński, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the Republic of Poland.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, thanked his Polish counterpart for his assistance in eliminating the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam explosion and showed footage of the rescue operation filmed on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir and in the city of Kherson in the first days of the tragedy after the reservoir disappeared.
"We are in the city of Rzeszów, which is the central hub of assistance to Ukraine. The speed with which the Polish Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs work is impressive, in particular during the disaster - when the russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam," said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Ihor Klymenko added that from the first hours of the tragedy, Ukrainian rescuers had used boats, generators, tankers and pumps provided by Poland immediately after the explosion.
"We needed help in those days. Our Polish colleagues responded quickly and provided it on time. Once again, we would like to thank the entire Polish people for the help they have been providing us since the first day of the war and in any problems that come with war," said Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
