The state has already reimbursed employers with UAH 108 million for the employment of more than 10,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs). This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
"Through hostilities, millions of Ukrainians were forced to move to safer regions of the country and most of them lost their jobs. We help them get a job in a new place. In particular, the Government launched several programs to stimulate employment, including providing compensation to employers who hire IDPs. To date, more than 6,600 entrepreneurs have hired internally displaced Ukrainians and will receive appropriate compensation from the state. A UAH 108 million resource has already been paid for the employment of more than 10,000 displaced people," Yulia Svyrydenko said.
It’s worth mentioning that since April, the Government has introduced a program to encourage businesses to hire internally displaced persons in order to speed up their adaptation and increase the level of employment among the population. For each employed IDP, the state pays the entrepreneur compensation of UAH 6,500 within 2 months.
According to the terms of the program, reimbursement for the employment of IDPs is provided to an employer who has hired such a person with a salary not less than the minimum wage (6,500 UAH), registered as a payer of a single contribution to the mandatory state social insurance, has submitted a tax return for 4 quarter of 2021 or the entire of 2021 and is not a non-profit organization.
In order to receive the funds, the employer must conclude an employment contract with an internally displaced person and register its data on the Diia Portal. After 5 days, the entrepreneur must submit an application for compensation together with documents confirming the payment of wages and assignments to the budget.
