Denys Uliutin met with EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Diane Schmitt on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly

During his working visit to the United States, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Uliutin met with EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Diane Schmitt.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possible areas for further cooperation based on Ukraine's key priorities in the field of preventing and combating trafficking in human beings.

The parties paid particular attention to the need for enhanced coordination of efforts in connection with the end of the temporary protection regime for Ukrainians in European Union countries in the first quarter of 2027.

"We appreciate the European Union's continued support in combating human trafficking. However, the end of the temporary protection regime in the EU creates additional risks for Ukrainians, and our common task is to ensure effective coordination to prevent these potential threats," said Denys Uliutin.

For her part, Diane Schmitt expressed her readiness to continue supporting Ukraine both at the political level and within the framework of individual project initiatives.

The parties agreed to hold additional working consultations in the near future to specify the mechanisms for further cooperation.

Earlier, Denys Uliutin met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten.
