During a working trip to Zaporizhia region, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal inspected the construction of the cable-stayed bridge of the Motorway across the Dnieper River in Zaporizhia.
"The highway across the Dnieper in Zaporozhye has already become a symbol of long-term construction of the city. Over the years, construction work here has been frozen. The lack of new solutions overloads the transport system and hampers the economic development of the region. Thanks to the President's Great Construction program, work on the highway has resumed. Today, construction is continuing at an accelerated pace, " the Prime Minister stressed.
Denys Shmyhal noted that the completion of the highway will solve the city's transport problem, as well as provide a reliable logistical connection between the right and left banks of the Dnieper through the Khortytsia island.
In 2020, in the presence of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, car traffic was opened on the beam bridge. In total, the highway project consists of six transport interchanges, which include 27 man-made structures.
A sum worth UAH 3 billion was allocated from the special fund of the state budget for the construction of the facility in 2020 and UAH 2.7 billion in 2021.
