Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, in Kyiv.
“Your visit to Ukraine and your visits to Ukrainian cities during the war unleashed by russia are evidence of the high level of attention to our country. We highly appreciate the provision of humanitarian aid and the active participation of the Holy See in the process of returning deported Ukrainian children and prisoners of war,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The parties discussed the establishment of a just peace for Ukraine, food security, the return of prisoners of war and Ukrainian children. In this context, the Prime Minister thanked the Holy See for participating in the First Peace Summit and supporting its decisions.
Denys Shmyhal also expressed gratitude for the assistance in the treatment of Ukrainian children who became victims of the russian war of aggression. The Prime Minister expressed hope for the Holy See’s participation and assistance in restoring the medical infrastructure in Ukraine.
