Despite the full-scale war, the Government has not delayed the payment of pensions, social benefits, privileges and subsidies for a single month. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasised this during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 29.
"Helping and caring for those who need it most is one of the primary functions of the state. The full-scale war has created a large number of challenges for us in the social sphere, while we channel all our state revenues to defence and security," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, the state has already carried out two indexations of pension payments during the full-scale war. Another indexation will take place in March 2024. Next year, it is also planned to increase the minimum wage to UAH 8,000. Meanwhile, utility tariffs will remain unchanged until the end of the heating season.
"We are planning to increase the budget for subsidies. Thanks to the digitalisation of processes, all subsidies will be reassigned automatically this year. Those who need a subsidy and have not received it before can apply online - through Diia or the website of the Pension Fund," the Head of Government noted.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government also keeps a constant focus on comprehensive support for Ukrainian veterans. Thus, in the draft budget for 2024, it is planned to almost double the expenditures on veterans' policy - from UAH 7.5 billion to more than UAH 14 billion: "We will officially launch the veteran's assistant project. We propose to allocate UAH 2.6 billion for rehabilitation and psychological support for veterans."
