Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization, and representatives of Japanese and Ukrainian companies, opened a JETRO representative office in Kyiv. The Government sees cooperation in the energy sector, infrastructure reconstruction, agriculture, engineering and IT as particularly promising.
“It is the private sector that will drive the reconstruction of our country and further economic growth. Ukraine’s recovery is about large-scale modernisation. Japan has this experience,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Emphasis on human capital, innovation, an export-oriented economy, prioritising high value-added production – all of this, according to the Prime Minister, Ukraine expects to implement with the help of the Japanese partners.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the people and government of Japan for the significant level of support provided to Ukraine.
