The Veteran's Assistant project aims to help with employment, training and social protection for people who have returned from war. At a meeting on October 10, the Government expanded the project to six more regions: Zakarpattia, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
By this decision, the Government also allocated UAH 44.2 million for the implementation of the project of the Veteran's Assistant.
"550 veterans' assistants will work in communities and will have direct contact with defenders. In the future, we plan to increase the number of assistants to 15,000. This will allow us to reach everyone who needs advice and support," emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
The project has already been launched in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Lviv and Mykolaiv regions.
The Prime Minister also said that in 2024 the state would double funding for veterans' programs. A sum worth UAH 14.3 billion will be spent to support defenders.
