Medium-term financial assistance programmes with our key allies are an important component of Ukraine's victory. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on March 8.
"The European Union has launched the Ukraine Facility programme. This is a four-year programme worth EUR 50 billion. In the next 2 months, Ukraine will have a chance to receive EUR 6 billion of this amount. To do this, the Government has approved the necessary documents at a meeting. These are draft memorandums and a loan agreement with the EU," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, the approval of these documents will allow us to receive up to EUR 4.5 billion in March and up to EUR 1.5 billion in April this year.
The Head of Government also said that the Ukraine Facility programme provides EUR 38.2 billion in direct budget support, almost EUR 7 billion to attract investment in our economy, as well as EUR 4.7 billion in technical and administrative support, including reforms on the path to the EU.
"This year we are seeking to receive about EUR 16 billion from the European Union. We are grateful to our European friends for this solidarity and assistance," the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.
