On the occasion of Journalist’s Day, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with media workers and congratulated them on their professional holiday.

He noted that Ukrainian correspondents, operators, and photographers, who risk their lives daily and are ready to be at the heart of events at any moment, are writing a new chapter in journalism amid the full-scale war.

“They inform society from hotspots and the frontlines. They document russia’s war crimes and show the world the truth. They also become chroniclers of the stories of people defending Ukraine and those who have become innocent victims of this war,” emphasised the Head of Government.

Furthermore, Denys Shmyhal highlighted that media representatives are recording the history of destroyed towns, villages, and entire families affected by russian terror.

“Journalists unite people, organise massive volunteer projects, and assist with evacuations on the ground,” stressed Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for their integrity and dedication to their work and presented honorary awards and valuable gifts to representatives of leading Ukrainian media outlets.
