Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a conversation with the newly appointed Prime Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson.
The officials discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Denys Shmyhal expressed his gratitude for the adoption of a long-term support plan for Ukraine until 2028, which provides security, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
“Iceland also contributes to NATO’s security initiatives for Ukraine and the Czech initiative on artillery ammunition. It is helping with military equipment and training the Ukrainian military. We appreciate such solidarity,” the Head of Ukrainian Government said.
The parties also discussed preparations for the Peace Summit in Switzerland and the implementation of the relevant formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Denys Shmyhal thanked Bjarni Benediktsson for his personal efforts to support Ukraine and develop cooperation between the two countries.
