Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Matteo Patrone discussed the implementation of joint projects during a meeting in Kyiv.
“The EBRD is one of our main partners and a reliable investor. The increase in investments in Ukraine has reached more than EUR 4.5 billion since February 2022,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Head of Government thanked the EBRD for its crucial support to the energy sector and its cooperation with Ukrainian energy companies. He said this was helping to strengthen their resilience in the face of russia’s attempts to destroy Ukraine’s energy system.
The parties discussed the implementation of infrastructure and humanitarian projects, in particular the provision of water supply to Mykolaiv. The Prime Minister expressed his expectation that the project would be implemented as soon as possible.
The participants of the meeting focused on food security, strengthening the private sector and restoring transport infrastructure.
“We hope that the EBRD will continue to increase its investments in our country and implement reconstruction projects for a strong and prosperous Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal.
