Denys Shmyhal discusses further mobilisation of donor contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund with Artur Lorkowski
On the sidelines of the international conference “Energy Security – Lessons from Ukraine” in Berlin, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Artur Lorkowski.
The key focus of the discussion was the coordination of efforts aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience.
“The Ukraine Energy Support Fund remains the main instrument in this process. We are accelerating procedures for fulfilling equipment requests and procurement processes. At present, the total amount of identified needs submitted by Ukrainian energy companies to the Fund exceeds EUR 773 million. Together with the Secretariat, we continue efforts to attract additional donor contributions,” Denys Shmyhal stated.
The Minister of Energy thanked the Energy Community Secretariat for its continued work and stressed that one of the key priorities of cooperation is the creation of strategic reserves of energy equipment to support preparations for and passage through the next winter season.
