The United States remains a reliable partner of Ukraine in financial support, recovery and sanctions policy against the aggressor state. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a joint briefing with U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen.

The Head of Government of Ukraine thanked the United States for its unprecedented support, especially for the new sanctions against russia, which include more than 120 companies and individuals.

"It is crucially important that this package includes individuals who facilitated the evasion of sanctions. We welcome the inclusion of persons associated with rosatom in the sanctions package and call on all partners to impose sanctions on the entire russian nuclear industry," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister noted that the price cap mechanism for russian oil was proving to be effective: russian oil and gas revenues had collapsed in the first quarter of this year. He called for a further reduction of the price cap to deprive russia of the ability to finance its bloody aggression.

The PM also welcomed the intentions of the U.S. Administration to increase financial support for our country by September this year and expressed confidence that the US would lead the rebuilding of Ukraine.

"We will win this war, peace will be restored, we will recover our economy and infrastructure. This will be the best evidence of the strength of democracy, international solidarity, the rule of law, inclusiveness and social justice. I am convinced that the United States will continue to play a leading role in this process," said Denys Shmyhal.
