The Government has improved the mechanism of acceptance, accounting and maintenance of fortifications in the frontline areas. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 21 January.
As per the resolution, military engineering and fortifications shall be transferred to the Ministry of Defence within one month and assigned to their designated balance holders.
According to Denys Shmyhal, 3,000 strongpoints were equipped last year in threatened areas and non-active combat zones. The state allocated UAH 46.2 billion for this purpose, given to regional military administrations and the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development.
“Together we are making every effort to deter the enemy and bring our victory closer,” the Prime Minister stressed.
