From now on, affordable loans can be obtained for the construction and installation of gas turbine, gas piston and biogas power generation plants. At its session on 18 June, the Government adopted a resolution expanding the scope of the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% programme. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"Restoring the energy sector and developing decentralised generation is a priority for the Government. We have already reduced dramatically the timeframe for approvals for connection to power grids and gas distribution systems, minimised the number of required documents, cancelled the land allocation procedure and environmental impact assessment. Less bureaucracy to speed up decisions," the Head of Government noted.
The Prime Minister has stressed that access to liquidity is a key prerequisite for the implementation of such projects to decentralise the energy system. Thus, a programme of interest-free lending for households to install solar panels and wind turbines is being developed in cooperation with the NBU.
Denys Shmyhal noted that generators had become an essential tool for people and businesses. According to the Ministry of Health and the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, sanitary standards for exceeding noise levels do not apply in the context of responding to emergencies. Therefore, there are no fines associated with this.
In this regard, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Energy to ensure that the public is regularly informed in the form of briefings on the state of the energy system and key issues.
