  • Denys Shmyhal: Utility tariffs will remain unchanged until the end of the heating season
Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 30 January 2024 19:46

Tariffs for electricity, gas and heat for households will not change until the end of the heating season.

This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the National Marathon "Yedyni Novyny" (United News).

"All tariffs will remain absolutely unaltered until the end of the heating season, as we promised. This applies primarily to the electricity tariff - UAH 2.64 per kilowatt hour. We will also not change the gas tariff - UAH 7.96 per cubic metre," the Prime Minister stressed.

According to him, Ukrainians who need support will be eligible for receiving subsidies.

"This year, the Government has allocated UAH 50 billion to pay subsidies. This is 25% more than last year. They will be available to 3 million Ukrainian families," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Head of Government assured that Ukraine would have a stable heating season despite the continuation of the energy terror by russia.

"For the first time, we are going through this heating season with gas produced domestically. Naftogaz of Ukraine and Ukrgasvydobuvannya increased production volumes by 11%, new wells were discovered, and about 10 bcm of gas have been accumulated in our storage facilities. Ukraine also became part of ENTSO-E and increased its electricity import capacity to 1.7 GW. This helps to balance the power system during russia's attacks and peak loads," said Denys Shmyhal.

He also thanked the Armed Forces of Ukraine, air defence forces, and power engineers for their excellent work, which ensures light and heat in the homes of Ukrainians.
