With the support of its partners, the Government is launching a pilot project to provide additional firewood to the population. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on November 7.
According to him, Ukrainian families receive subsidies for solid fuel, with a maximum amount of UAH 7,000 per household per year. He stressed that this amount was not sufficient to cover their needs.
"The maximum subsidy for the purchase of solid fuel will now more than double and amount to UAH 16,200 per family per year. Thus, we provide people with a resource for heating the premises where it is not possible to heat them with gas," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, 1.3 million families are currently receiving subsidies for housing and communal services, with an average amount of UAH 760 per family in October. In addition, 1.2 million families receive benefits for housing and utility services. The average amount of such benefits is UAH 850 per month.
