Security and demining is another vector of work that the Government keeps in focus. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a press conference on 9 September.

One of the security projects is the ‘Offline School’. According to the Prime Minister, tens of billions of hryvnias have been allocated to make the educational space safer, more accessible and more convenient. In particular, UAH 7.5 billion has been invested in the construction of shelters in schools.

"By the end of the year, we want to return 300,000 children to full-time education, and our strategy is to return to offline education wherever possible. We want Ukrainians to have an opportunity to return from abroad, and security is one of the key elements," the Head of Government stressed.

Humanitarian demining is another important project within which the relevant market has already been formed and compensation is being paid to farmers for demining services.

"Thanks to the involvement of non-governmental operators, this whole process is much faster and next year we should reach a very good pace,’ Denys Shmyhal stressed and added that farmers were already using more than 150,000 hectares of agricultural land that had been surveyed and cleared of mines by sappers.
