
Denys Shmyhal: 2 million Ukrainians have already applied for ePidtrymka assistance
Government has adopted a decision to reimburse communal expenses to the budgets of communities that shelter the displaced people on a free basis in communal buildings and premises. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced in a video address on March 12.
The Head of Government thanked the communities that host people who were forced to flee from their homes as a result of active hostilities and stressed the support measures will be further supplemented by Government’s decisions.
“An updated ePidtrymka program for employees and individual entrepreneurs has triggered in the Diia. Within the framework of this program, every employee or entrepreneur who lost job as a result of war can receive UAH 6,500 each. 2 million Ukrainians have already applied for such assistance. And we have a sufficient amount of money to pay everyone in need,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister also told that the Pension Fund of Ukraine had already directed UAH 38.3 billion to banks and the Ukrposhta offices. This is the total amount of funds needed to pay pensions this month.
“The Ministry of Social Policy ensures the payment of all subsidies, allowances and cash social benefits assigned to people. Benefits, aids, subsidies are automatically extended. Special mechanisms for receiving pensions and social assistance for those who were evacuated through a cash transfer mechanism were launched”, the Head of Government told.
Denys Shmyhal added the Humanitarian Headquarters continues to operate within the Government. From March 2 to 12, Ukraine received more than 40,000 tons of humanitarian aid. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsia are currently functioning as logistics headquarters. According to the data, a third of the aid received has already been delivered to the regions and distributed according to the needs of each region.
