At the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, payments to the military officers of the Armed Forces will be increased by 30% from March 1, 2022. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on February 14.
In addition, the financial support of the State Border Guard Service and the National Guards officers will increase up to 20% from the beginning of 2022 (taking into account the already approved decision to increase by 10% from February 1). This is provided for in the Action Plan endorsed by the Government in pursuance of the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 14 February 2022 №53 / 2022 "On urgent measures to consolidate the Ukrainian society". According to the Decree, February 16, 2022, is declared the Day of Unity.
"The Day of Unity must consolidate Ukrainians in the face of threats and information pressure. The Government has demonstrated its cohesion by promptly developing an Action Plan, which, in particular, provides for an increase in salaries for our servicemen. We expect the same consolidation from local governments and the whole society, because it is just the unity that’s an enduring strength of Ukraine," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Among other things, the Action Plan envisages the creation of a single information platform for strategic communication "UArazom" (UAtogether - ed.) to ensure daily informing the public about the security situation, speeding up the process of creating a territorial defense system, and holding meetings of foreign diplomats and Ukrainian communities in foreign diplomatic missions.
