At its meeting on July 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate funds for the purchase of housing for the Ukrainian military and their families.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the state will provide assistance to servicemen who took part in repelling the armed aggression in Donbas and got wounds.

The Head of Government told the decision stipulates for the allocation of UAH 305 million to be directed to provide apartments and houses for almost 300 militarymen and their families.

"These people defended our independence and territorial integrity. Our military are our heroes, and that is why we, as the Government and society, must pay due respect to them, including creating decent living and working conditions. It is of paramount importance that our boys and girls on the front line could see and understand that the state is here on a peaceful land, lends a hand and helps them and their families. That is why our decision today is not only about social obligations, but also about the national security of our country," Denys Shmyhal announced.

Taking the opportunity, the Prime Minister reminded that July 5 marks the 6th anniversary of the liberation of the cities of Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka from pro-Russian militants. "I thank the Ukrainian military and all those who gave their lives for a peaceful sky above our heads. I thank all the Ukrainian military who are defending our country," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
