The parties discussed the situation with the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, its impact on the economy of Ukraine and economies of European countries, financial and economic cooperation.
On Friday, May 15, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a virtual meeting with the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the European Union for a EUR 190 million assistance disbursed to Ukraine for the healthcare system, small and medium-sized enterprises, small farms, civil society and the conflict-affected regions of the East and South of the country for overcoming COVID-19.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also expressed hope for a tranche of macro-financial assistance to be received from the European Union in the next two weeks.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government also assured Valdis Dombrovskis of the continuation of systemic reforms and stressed the importance of joining efforts to address the challenges posed by the pandemics.
