Today, July 15, the State Property Fund of Ukraine has put up the Dnipro Hotel in Kyiv for privatization auction.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this in his opening statement during the Government session.
According to him, the beginning of the privatization of the Dnipro Hotel is a landmark event for Ukraine. "As of 12:30, there are already 29 participants in the auction. The State Property Fund expected that the starting price would increase 5-6 times. The starting price was UAH 81 million. Now the price at the auction has increased by more than UAH 700 million, i.e. in fact ninefold. And this is just the beginning," stressed the Prime Minister.
Apart from that, the Head of Government accentuated that today's event is "not only an important step in terms of resuming privatization processes. It is also a good sign for investors that privatization in Ukraine is transparent, fair and through open bidding."
"Right now you can watch this auction - it takes place online, the broadcast is available on the pages of the State Property Fund on social networks. Our Government will further facilitate so that as many state-owned enterprises as possible receive efficient businesses. This is not a new model, and this is not some complicated reform, this is a normal practice of developed countries when enterprises are managed by an effective owner," Denys Shmyhal summed up.
