An important part of the state's preparation for the heating season is the import of as much energy generating equipment as possible. Only on November 17, according to the State Customs Service, 8,577 generating sets were imported to Ukraine. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told in an opening statement during a Government session.
The PM reminded that the Government had previously adopted a decision exempting goods that improve energy supply from VAT and import duties. These are power generators, transformers, batteries and other equipment for the energy sector.
"But we had complaints about difficulties with their import by individuals. Allegedly, the Government's decision does not apply to individuals. This is not true. Every Ukrainian can import the necessary generators and charging stations to the country without paying customs duties and VAT," the Prime Minister stressed.
During the session on November 18, the Government adopted a protocol decision to ensure unimpeded customs clearance of energy supply goods for individuals.
Denys Shmyhal added that if someone at the customs creates obstacles, they should immediately contact the hotline of the Security Service of Ukraine.
