Heads of cities of regional significance and heads of regional state administrations share a position on a total ban or partial restrictions on the activities of festive fairs.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on December 2.
"The opinion of the regions is important for us, so we conducted a survey on the optimal quarantine measures among city heads and heads of regional state administrations," said the Head of Government.
Denys Shmyhal noted that the Government had worked with association structures that unite city councils and communities to define such quarantine measures.
Thus, according to the Prime Minister, the city heads and the heads of the regional state administrations agreed on the need for either a total ban or the introduction of partial restrictions on the activities of holiday fairs.
"Almost 90% of the polled city heads supported a total ban on concerts. At the same time, the installation of a Christmas tree with a number of restrictions on attendance is supported by almost 60% of local government representatives," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Cabinet of Ministers was currently working out the most balanced solution regarding the possible tightening of quarantine restrictions. According to the law, the Government will notify the decision 7 days before its implementation or earlier.
