We are proud of those who ushered in peace in the world and Ukraine in the Second World War. This was stated by Head of Government Volodymyr Groysman during a traditional ceremony of welcoming of veterans - former employees of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine held on the anniversary of the victory in the Second World War.

"Unfortunately, in 2014, we began to sway the history of our struggle, the Ukrainian citizens united in defence of their native land. In times of trials it is vital to bear in mind the feat of veterans of the Second World War, who had made it possible for suceeding generations to live. Now our challenge is to be an honour to our forefathers, remember all those who never returned from war and sacrificed their lives for the future generations", said Volodymyr Groysman.

It should be noted that there has been planned in the state budget for 2018 the sum worth UAH 1.3 billion as one-time cash assistance to veterans of war and participants in hostilities. Depending on the category, the assistance will amount up to UAH 3.685.

Moreover, in 2018, the program for the purchase of housing for families of the deceased and persons with disabilities of I-II groups as a result of participation in hostilities in the territory of other states has been restored.
