February 12, during a working visit of the Ukrainian delegation to NATO Headquarters, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zagorodnyuk held a meeting with the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland Mariusz Błaszczak.
The main topic of the meeting was the current directions of cooperation between the defense agencies of the two countries. In this context, the parties stressed the further development of military-political cooperation and the importance of Poland's role in the process of receiving the Enhanced Opportunity Partnership status by Ukraine.
Ministers exchanged views on the further deployment of the joint unit LITPOLUKRBRIG, as well as the training of Ukrainian units in the framework of the Joint Multinational Training Group - Ukraine (JMTG-U).
In the course of the meeting, the parties also discussed promising areas of cooperation, such as enhancement of security in the Azov and Black Sea regions, development of cooperation in technological projects, territorial defense, countering hybrid threats and information exchange on the security situation in the border areas, as well as cooperation in a military and historical spheres.
