  • Intensification of work of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-UAE commission on trade and economic cooperation will give an additional impetus to expanding cooperation between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates

    Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Ukraine Salem Ahmed Al-Kaabi. Deputy Minister for European Integration Natalia Boyko took part in the meeting as well.

    The parties discussed a number of topical issues concerning the organization and preparation of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-UAE Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

    Ihor Nasalyk confirmed the interest of Ukraine in revitalizing cooperation between the two countries, in particular in the energy sector.

    "The work of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-UAE commission on trade and economic cooperation will become an effective instrument for expanding and stimulating cooperation", the Minister said. "We are the segment that opens the way for further cooperation."

    Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates in Ukraine Salem Ahmed Al-Kaabi noted the openness of the Government of Ukraine, which makes it possible to establish contacts between the governments and peoples of Ukraine and the UAE. He also stressed that the Emirates party expects the delegation to be represented by both government officials and business representatives in order to ensure thorough discussion of expanding trade and the possibility of signing a number of cooperation agreements.

    The parties agreed to hold a meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-UAE Commission on trade and economic cooperation in August 2018.
