Since the beginning of the year, 7,400 agricultural enterprises have received almost UAH 44.5 billion in loans under various state support programmes. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet on 13 May.

“7,700 farms have received subsidies for livestock development. The state has attracted more than UAH 390 million of grant funds from the World Bank to pay the next tranche under the relevant programme,” he said.

Denys Shmyhal also stressed that the Government was working to clear agricultural land of explosive ordnance. In particular, under the programme of compensation for demining, farmers were able to clear almost 1,400 hectares of land.

“In total, more than 35,000 square kilometres have been returned to use thanks to the work of deminers. We are constantly increasing our demining capabilities,” the Prime Minister stressed.

He also emphasised the effectiveness of one of the components of the comprehensive Made in Ukraine programme, under which agricultural producers receive compensation for the purchase of Ukrainian machinery.

“Last year, farmers purchased 5,300 units of machinery. We expect the demand to be even higher this year. In this way, we are simultaneously developing the Ukrainian industry and modernising farms,” said Denys Shmyhal.
