At the request of the Government of Ukraine, Australia will provide our country with at least 70,000 tons of thermal coal to strengthen energy security.

"Australia is recognized internationally as a leading and reliable supplier of energy resources. We thank our Australian partners for helping Ukraine at this difficult time, when our country is resisting russia's illegal and brutal military invasion," said German Galushchenko, Ukraine's Minister of Energy.

The Australian Government held a relevant work with the country's coal enterprises to accumulate coal reserves, which will be the country's contribution to providing Ukrainian consumers with a reliable electricity supply.

The Australian company Whitehaven Coal will arrange a shipment. Currently, the Government is working with the Ukrainian side on the issue of prompt delivery.

The cost of coal and its delivery will be funded by the Australian Government.
