On September 14, in the framework of a joint conference of the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and GIZ on improving the energy efficiency of industrial facilities, the results of the selection of Ukrainian enterprises that will receive technical support for the implementation of pilot projects on energy efficiency were presented.
GIZ cooperates with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in order to increase the level of energy efficiency of the Ukrainian industry. At present, Ukraine consumes 3-4 times more energy than the EU in average. In some industries, the share of energy consumption is 40% of total production costs. However, only a few companies are taking measures to reduce energy costs.
First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maksym Nefyodov, commenting on the results of the selection of projects, said: "Investing in energy efficiency today is not only part of the social responsibility of business. This is also an economic necessity, because the state can not constantly provide businesses with incentives and subsidies for the purchase of energy resources. "
