  • Vladyslav Kryklii: 40% of national priority investment projects is accounted for by infrastructure and transport sectors

    The Government has approved a list of priority investment projects for the state for 2020-2023, and 40% of this list are large-scale projects in the field of infrastructure and transport. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.

    "The era of successful public-private partnerships has begun. Priority investment projects, the list of which was recently approved by the Government, cover almost all sectors of transport. Their list includes the construction of a new airport in Zakarpattia and the reconstruction of another 13 regional airports. In the field of postal services, these are the implementation of 2 large-scale projects to modernize the logistics network of the Ukrposhta and reform its rural branches. In the road sector, those are the construction of a new Ring Road around Kyiv and a new bridge across the Southern Bug River in Mykolaiv, the laying of the upper asphalt layer on the H-31 Dnipro-Reshetylivka highway and the repair of another 10 promising sections of roads. Including those that were previously selected for the implementation of potential PPP pilot projects under the First Program of Public-Private Partnership in the Road Industry," told the Minister.

    The list of priority investment projects for the state in the railway sector includes the concession of railway terminals and stations Kharkiv-Pasazhyrsky, Dnipro-Holovny, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Chop, Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky, Khmelnytsky, electrification of sections Kovel-Yagodyn-state border and Kovel-Izov-state border, buildings of the Mostyska-Sknyliv track, as well as the purchase of electric freight locomotives to upgrade the rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsia.

    In addition, the Ministry of Infrastructure will continue to actively implement concession projects in seaports. The list of promising investment projects includes concessions of the railway and ferry complex and the first and container terminal in the port of Chornomorsk, concession of the passenger complex in the port of Odessa, concession of berths of Berdyansk seaport and other projects. The above list also includes an investment project to increase the capacity and processing capacity of port stations.

    It should be noted, earlier the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukravtodor, the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation in Ukraine presented the First Program of Public-Private Partnership in the Road Sector: http://roadppp.in.ua . 6 sections of roads with a total length of 1,400 km, which were selected for potential PPP pilot projects, will be implemented under this Program in the first stage.
