Deputy Minister of Energy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Farid Safarov took part in the webinar "Operational Support Group of Ukraine" dedicated to the process of assistance by European energy companies to the Ukrainian energy sector. The event was organized by the Energy Community Secretariat, which with the participation of the European Commission since the beginning of the war took the lead in this process. The webinar was also attended by Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, and Barbara Glowacka, Member of the Office of the European Commissioner for Energy.

Farid Safarov stressed the importance of support for the energy sector by European partners.

"We are sincerely grateful that the necessary equipment to restore energy supply began to arrive from many friendly countries just days after our calls for help. The Energy Community Secretariat is extremely effective in coordinating and optimizing these joint efforts. Thanks to this, we received 40 containers and 35 trucks with electrical equipment - generators, transformers, cables, insulators, etc.," said the Deputy Minister.

He outlined the basic principles of distribution of donor support from European countries and companies. Thus, the Ministry of Energy has a special working group, which includes government officials, representatives of energy companies, transmission and distribution operators, and civil society.

In particular, equipment from donors is distributed according to the following priorities:

• supplied to regions affected by hostilities and liberated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

• used to restore electricity and gas supply to citizens;

• serves to prevent injuries and incidents that pose a danger to people (power outages in mines, etc.).
