Fellow compatriots!

On behalf of the Government and me personally, I congratulate all Christians of Ukraine on Easter!

The resurrection of Christ is a very significant and the most important holiday in the Christian world. For believers Easter traditionally symbolizes rebirth and renewal of everything, absolution from sins and evil thoughts, forgiveness and affirmation of love and good. This day we spend with our beloved ones and relatives  giving them our love and warmth.

This year’s  Easter is especially significant for all Orthodox Christians of our country, because for the first time Ukraine celebrates Easter with its own autocephalous church. It is difficult to overestimate the significance of this event for the Ukrainian people - Ukraine has finally gained another spiritual element of its own independence. I believe that the local autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox church will be a solid foundation for believers and all Ukrainian society.

We also pray for those who defend our homeland from external aggression in the East. We thank our fighters for their courage and heroism and wish them a safe return to their homes. Ukraine will always remember the heroes who sagefuard our freedom and state independence.

I believe that such Christian values and convictions as love and mercy, faith in own strength and our country will enable us to continue uniting in a strong, united nation and to build a fair and prosperous society. I wish all compatriots nice holidays and bright emotions,  family comfort and well-being, sound health and peaceful sky!
