  • Government and Parliament approved the Roadmap for the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in synergy with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, drafted and approved the Roadmap of legislative support for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union for 2018-2019. The document, designed to intensify European integration processes in Ukraine, was presented by Head of Government Volodymyr Groysman and Speaker of the Parliament Andrii Parubii. The event was attended by Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, representatives of parliamentary factions, members of the Government.

    The Roadmap is a package of 57 draft laws that should be considered by the Parliament during two years.

    "We are facing the challenges to bring about legislative changes that lead us towards and integrate us into the European community. We are committed to interact with regards to the adoption of various bills, which also improve the quality of life of citizens and the development of the economy. We are committed to the quickest possible integration (into the EU), "the Head of Government said.

    He stressed that the agenda is rich and ambitious, but the implementation of it will allow us to move towards achieving our goals.

    Background

    Implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU is the basis of the reform program of the Cabinet of Ministers. That is why the Government will make every effort to guarantee successful implementation of both the approved Roadmap and the Association Agreement as a whole. Success in attaining the objectives will allow deepening the effect of the Free Trade Area with the EU, in particular in the most sensitive areas, namely, reducing tariffs and technical barriers to trade in goods, opening access to services and public procurement markets, approximation of Ukrainian legislation to the EU
