In the framework
of the First
Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Conference,
which was held in Beijing,
China, acting Head of the
State Fiscal Service of Ukraine
(SFS) Myroslav Prodan met with Li
Guo, Vice Minister and Member
of the CPC Leadership Group of the General
Administration of Customs of China
(GACC). This is the first bilateral
meeting of such level since
2012. Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to
the People’s Republic of China
Oleg Dyomin also attended the
meeting.
The key issues
on the agenda
were, first of all, the
simplification and acceleration of customs procedures within the framework
of the project
a New Silk Road. The SFS stands
ready to implement Ukraine-China Action Plan signed on
December 5, 2017, in Kyiv.
Apart from that,
promising areas of cooperation between the authorities
in the field
of counteracting customs offenses could be the
exchange of information on significant detention cases, for example,
cash money, drugs and psychotropic
substances, tobacco and alcohol, flora
and fauna, the movement of
which is limited or prohibited.
Moreover, Ukraine's membership
in the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic
Development (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) will
help to accelerate
the movement of goods along
the new Silk
Road. During 2015-2017, Protocols on the
exchange of preliminary information on goods and
vehicles, on the mutual recognition
of individual results of customs
procedures were signed with the
member states of the said
organization.
