NATO support is very important for successful transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko stressed it in the 178th Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session (MCCS) at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

He briefed the audience on current security situation in and around Ukraine, updated participants on current threats and challenges for Ukraine and NATO nations, spoke about the role of Ukraine in European security.

General Muzhenko also spoke about reforms of the national defence force of Ukraine and defined defence reform achievements since 2014. He also remarked the importance of NATO and NATO nations support for success of these efforts. The CHoDs stressed their continued commitment to Ukraine.

Moreover, on January 17, General Muzhenko held talks with Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Petr Pavel. The parties exchanged views on priorities of NATO-Ukraine cooperation.
