Prime Minister: Heads of RSAs should bear in mind personal responsibility for responding to the deterioration of weather conditions
In many regions
heavy snowfalls have
caused traffic problems both on
highways and in cities, but
the responsibility of local authorities
is to timely and
efficiently respond to the situation
and help people. This was
stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman during the Government session.
"Snow causes
traffic jams both on motor
roads and in urban areas.
It is important
for local authorities to mobilize resources," stressed the Head
of Government and added that
the local budgets possess sufficient resources to ensure proper
functioning of road infrastructure.
"When traffic
jams and problems occur, hence it is
if utmost importance to quickly
unblock roads and help people.
Local leaders should shortly organize work. We inform (about
threats) in advance and mobilize
(resources). Everyone should be involved",
underscored the Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Groysman emphasized
leadership on the ground is
personally responsible for the situation.
"If the heads of administrations
remain passive observers, I will submit a Government’s proposal for dismissal
of such officials
to the President.
I would ask you to take
this issue seriously. We will
monitor the situation. It is
important not to forget about
people. There is a technique, there is fuel,
there is money... And then
we will make
corresponding organizational
conclusions", the Head of Government
claimed.
