December 26, First Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv signed a Memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) with the leading Ukrainian mobile network operators on the possibility of obtaining operational statistical observations of the dynamic of tourist flows through the territory of Ukraine. The corresponding document was inked with Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and Lifecell mobile operators.

Mykhailo Titarchuk, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, commended the importance of this cooperation. According to him, the statistics information regarding the movement of tourist flows through the country received from mobile operators will allow to carry out qualitative and operational monitoring of the situation in the tourism sector, and, more importantly, to shape more effective strategies for its development.
