Ukraine's infrastructure improvement will not just allow the country to
accelerate its economic growth, but to strengthen the international logistics
position of Ukraine as the key country participating in a major international
logistics project the New Silk Road as well. This was stated by Prime Minister
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
during the final press conference.
"We have port infrastructure, rail infrastructure, we are now
restoring the road infrastructure. We are cooperating with Georgia, Azerbaijan,
we are working with China. We have set the task which is to transport goods
safely," stressed Volodymyr Groysman,
"It is clear that the modernization of infrastructure, the creation of new
rules means not just to write posts on Facebook. This
implies a fundamental work. And for 2018 we have a number of serious challenges
(to liberalize procedures, to improve the conditions of cargo handling)."
In this regard, the Head of Government reminded that recently the
Cabinet of Ministers had approved the plan for the modernization of the SE Ukrzaliznytsia, and will soon wound up the negotiation with
the American giant General Electric on retrofitting the rolling stock of the Ukrzaliznytsia. No less important in this aspect is
cooperation with other partners of Ukraine from different countries, including
China.
Background
The Head of Government has repeatedly noted that infrastructure
development is one of the essential priorities for the Government. And in 2018,
the projects of road overhaul and infrastructure development will allow the
economy to improve its performance by at least 1% of GDP.
