Within the
framework of pursuing the pension reform, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
has elaborated the conceptual framework for the bill on the modernization of
pensions for the military and handed over the document to the National Security
and Defense Council. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during A
Question Time for the Government at the Verkhovna Rada.
"We have
drafted legal framework and system that provides for the update of pensions for
over 550 thousand military retirees. We see an opportunity to raise pension by
not less than UAH 1.5 thousand. Pensions for the participants of combat
operations will be raised even more," stressed Volodymyr
Groysman. "We have submitted this ‘framework’ to
the NSDC, because all military issues are resolved in accord with the National
Security and Defense Council. It represents all law enforcement agencies and
this will be a good platform."
The Head of
Government announced that the final version of the bill will probably be presented
by the President of Ukraine. "Along with this, our proposal is that
whenever the law passed, pensions sould be raised in
January already," added Volodymyr Groysman.
