Minister of Infrastructure: National airline SkyUP to kick off operating

Starting from March 2018, a new national airline SkyUp will start operating that will bring drastic changes to the domestic and foreign airline markets. This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan at a press conference held on December 14.

Ukrainian air carrier will initially perform international charter flights, then it is planned to open regular domestic and international destinations.

"I am pleased to note that the synergy between business and the state is yielding a result. It is not just about the development of the air industry, additional revenues to the budget, the revival of regional airports. It is vitally important that from now on Ukrainians will have more opportunities to discover the world", Volodymyr Omelyan emphasized and added the Ministry of Infrastructure has embarked on the work on the full implementation of the EU Directive on airport charges.
