Head of Government vows next year will become a breakthrough in achieving economic boost and changing the governance model

The drastic reforms being put in place in the economic and social spheres offer Ukraine new opportunities for ensuring significant economic growth at the level of 5-7%, as well as changes in the governance model and quality of government’s decisions. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman issued this statement during a meeting with business persons. The event was held with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as well as MPs.

The Head of Government stressed that Ukraine could become one of the most dynamic economies in Europe in the short term. To this end, it is of utmost importance to take decisions that will be based on the principles of protecting investors who boost the development of the domestic industry, create new jobs, and increase the production of competitive high value added products.

"The next year should become the year of economic upturn and the establishment of clear rules for business," noted the Prime Minister. "I am confident that the President, the Parliament and the Government, together with business, are a strong force."

He recalled that this year, important far-reaching incentives in the medical, educational, pension, VAT administration system have been approved. This is precisely why the "autumn of fundamental reforms" should turn into a "spring of legislative initiatives on ease of doing business".

"The state must be stable. Our ambitious goal is to enter the TOP-30 in the Doing Business ranking of the World Bank. Can we do this? The answer is yes, we can. We must adopt new legislation, and through its implementation we will succeed," urged the Head of Government.

According to him, among the most burning legislative amendments are bills on restoration of lending to the real sector, introduction of a deferral of VAT payment for import of technological equipment for the renewal of industrial enterprises, as well as the creation of technological parks and industrial parks.

Volodymyr Groysman stressed the implementation of the abovesaid incentives will allow Ukraine to take a worthy place on the world economic map and to halt the outflow of highly skilled workers "People will come back to Ukraine. And this will be a new milestone in the development of our country", he summed up.
