The adoption of a Government’s draft law on countering pressure on entrepreneurs at the legislative level puts a lid on an ignominious practice being used by law enforcement agencies against business. This announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of TV channel 112.UA.
"This is a resounding victory of the Parliament. I thank the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and all the factions who supported the bill. We have 312 votes ("for") - a constitutional majority. I am assured that the President of Ukraine will shortly sign the law ", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.
He emphasized his respect for the law-enforcement officers who are engaged in their direct activities, inter alia preventing crimes, fighting against real crime, human protection and defending the territorial integrity of the state. "But I have scorn for those who put on badges, come to enterprises and commit injustice there. This will go into oblivion," the Head of Government claimed.
He drew attention to the fact that yearly results unveiled the number of searches at Ukrainian enterprises has reached 100 thousand.
"The law will protect honest business. I congratulate entrepreneurs. We did it together, we eradicated the lawlessness", said the Prime Minister and stressed that the leaders of law-enforcement bodies of Ukraine backed the abovesaid document.
"No one else will be able to exert pressure on companies and entrepreneurs," summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a draft law prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on amendments to certain legislative acts on ensuring compliance with the rights of participants in criminal proceedings and other persons by law enforcement agencies during the prejudicial inquiry (No. 7275), which encapsulates instruments for counteracting any unjustified pressure on Ukrainian enterprises, including pressure from the law enforcement agencies. The bill was drafted in synergy with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Business Ombudsman Council.
