Prime Minister: Since the beginning of the year over 2 thousand km of road network have been reconstructed in Ukraine
Since the
beginning of the year there have been reconstructed and repaired over 2
thousand km of road networks in Ukraine, being twice the level of 2016. Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
assured the activities would only increase. According to the Head of
Government, road repair work is being conducted throughout the entire territory
of Ukraine, and each region of Ukraine can demonstrate examples of overhauled
and repaired road infrastructure.
"We could
have organized large-scale repairs, reconstruction and construction of roads
all over the country," said Volodymyr Groysman. "If earlier we analyzed the state of the
roads, nowadays we see what we have achieved."
The Prime
Minister stressed that rehabilitation of road infrastructure is an issue of
improvement of the transit potential of Ukraine, first of all, as a country
participating in several transport corridors, as well as of an issue of traffic
safety. In this regard, the Prime Minister reminded that Ukraine has embarked on
the implementation of a three-year traffic safety improvement program, which
stipulates for providing safe crossings, installation of weighing scales,
control over implementation of updated traffic rules, updating of the technical
component in road maintenance.
"We must
build high-quality roads. Ukraine will have smooth roads to drive on",
assured Volodymyr Groysman.
