The Memorandum of Understanding between the State Space Agency of Ukraine and the Canadian Space Agency was inked in the framework of the Canadian-Ukrainian Round Table on cooperation in the aerospace sector in Montreal (Canada). The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, who is on an official visit to Canada.

The signed document encapsulates new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the states in one of the most technological spheres of the economy - in the field of cosmic exploration.

Commenting on the signing of the document, Volodymyr Groysman stressed the inked document opens new opportunities and will become a new page in the cooperation of Ukraine and Canada. «It’s a good sign that today our agencies are signing such key documents. I will be glad to welcome our cooperation in the aircraft construction as well. We can combine capabilities of Ukraine and Canada and create a competitive product which could then be introduced on the world market», the Head of Government claimed.

Ukraine and Canada are discussing a number of joint projects. In particular, the construction of the An-132 aircraft (engines supplied by Pratt & Whitney Canada), as well as the creation of the platform, which is being built, for space launches in Nova Scotia, Canada. The project is planned to be implemented by Maritime Launch Services and the SE "Design Bureau "Yuzhnoye" name after Yangel". Apart from that, a project on cooperation between Canadian and Ukrainian enterprises concerning the launch of nanosatellites with the help of the Microspace-2 aerospace launch system is being worked out now.
