
Ministry of Defence of Ukraine hosts delegation of Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence
The delegation of
the Ministry of Defence of
Ukraine headed by First Deputy
Minister of Defence Ivan Rusnak
held talks with the delegation
of the Ministry
of National Defence of the
Republic of Lithuania headed by Vice Minister
of National Defence of the
Republic of Lithuania Vitautas Umbrasas.
The parties discussed
issues related to further development
of the Lithuanian-Ukrainian
defence cooperation.
Mr Rusnak thanked
Mr Umbrasas for support and
briefed guests on current situation
in east of
Ukraine.
“We praise
your political and practical assistance
and believe in further defence
support and cooperation. Lithuania is our partner
assisting us to implement reforms
under NATO standards. Particularly, in terms of training
of Ukrainian service personnel and reforms of
the NCO corps under international standards,” Rusnak said.
According to Mr Umbrasas, Lithuania and Ukraine have
a lot in common. He reaffirmed
the Lithuania readiness to support
Ukrainian army in training the
Ukrainian soldiers, strategic communications, and treatment of
wounded soldiers.
